Supported Models: S24-POE, S16-POE, S8-POE

Configuration:

AVPro Edge works with Alta Labs Switches right out of the box, however, there are some recommended settings adjustments that will keep your AV over IP humming like a well-oiled machine

  1. Ensure your switch is running the latest firmware:

  2. IGMP Snooping: You can enable IGMP Snooping on a VLAN by accessing any of the switch setting cards on your site. Click the edit icon next to the appropriate VLAN.  With IGMP Snooping enabled, both Fast Leave and Querier are then both enabled.

A new window will appear where you can toggle whether IGMP Snooping is enabled for that specific VLAN.

  3. VLAN Policy: While not necessary for AVPro Edge to function correctly, it is recommended that you deploy a VLAN policy for your AVPro Edge-enabled devices and assign them to a VLAN other than the default of 1.

To learn more about VLAN configuration, please see the Setting Up VLANs (802.1q) article. There is one deviation from this article as it pertains to AVPro Edge equipment, however, there is zero configuration required on the router! AVPro Edge gear is automatically configured with static APIPA addresses without a gateway. This streamlines the entire setup and is as simple as adding a new VLAN, with IGMP snooping enabled, and assigning it to the ports that go to AVPro Edge equipment!

Thank you for choosing Alta Labs for use in your AVPro Edge environments!
