BLE Firmware Update Instructions

To update the BLE firmware on your Route10 device, follow these steps if a dynamic internet connection or active network is available:

  1. Connect to a Network with Internet Access: Plug the Route10 WAN1 port into a network with active internet access.
  2. Reset the Device: While holding the reset button, plug in the power cord to the Route10.
  3. Wait for the Indicator Light: Release the reset button once the top logo illuminates.
  4. Complete the Update: Wait 2-3 minutes until the top light blinks green, then power cycle the device and tap "Continue" on the setup screen.

Setup Without an Active Internet Connection

If there is no pre-existing network or dynamic internet connection on-site (e.g., in cases where static IP or PPPoE configurations are required), you may need to complete the setup using a wired device. To do this, connect a computer directly to a LAN interface on the Route10 via an Ethernet cable and access the web setup at http://192.168.1.1 or http://setup.lan to proceed.

Network Overlap Consideration

During the BLE firmware update process, if the Route10’s WAN is connected to an active network in the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet, a conflict with the Route10’s default LAN settings may occur. This can prevent the update from completing.

To address this, you have the following options:

  1. Connect the Route10 directly to your modem to avoid potential network overlap. (Note: Some modem/router combo devices may still use the 192.168.1.0/24 range, which can cause similar issues.)
  2. Set up a temporary VLAN to isolate the Route10 for the update process.

Use a different network/subnet for setup, or, if feasible, adjust the upstream network to avoid the 192.168.1.0/24 range.
