The Route10 supports port aggregation with LACP and Active-Passive modes. Port aggregation combines ports to increase bandwidth and provide redundancy. This can be configured in the port settings on the Network tab. First, you should configure the switchports on the other end. For more information on port aggregation on Alta switches, click here. 

1. Log in to the Alta portal.
2. Click on the Network tab.
3. Click on the icon of the Route10.
4. Click on a port that you want in the group.
5. Use the Aggregation drop-down box to select the other ports that you want to include.
6. Select the Aggregation Mode.
7. Click Save.  

The ports that are part of a group will have an indicator in the lower-left. To make configuration changes to the group, you must select the port that you initially used to create the group. The other ports will have all of their settings grayed out, and will use the configuration from the port that was used to create the group. 

Aggregation Mode

There are two options for aggregation mode: LACP and Active-Passive. LACP gives increased bandwidth and redundancy, while Active-Passive only provides redundancy. In order to use LACP, all of the ports in the group must be the same speed, on the same switch, and the switch ports must be configured for LACP. Active-Passive can be used with ports that are not the same speed, and the ports may be on different switches. Active-Passive does not use aggregated ports on the switch side.
