The dashboard on the Alta portal has the option to show the site's location using Google Maps. The location of all of your sites will also show up in the map in the Site Manager. You can add the site location when you create a new site, or by clicking Add on the dashboard. You can change or remove the location of a site by clicking the pencil in the upper right of the map on the dashboard.

Enabling and disabling the map on the dashboard

Displaying the map on the dashboard can be toggled on or off. This option is found under Settings → System → Advanced Settings.

Note that changing this setting will only affect the map on the dashboard. The map on the Site Manager will still display the site location as long as the site has a location set.

Google Maps API key

If you are using a local controller and you are not accessing it through *.manage.alta.inc, a Google Maps API key is required in order to use the site location. You can generate one here. You will need to enable the "Maps JavaScript" and "Places" APIs. After generating an API key, enter it in Settings → System → Advanced Settings.
