Manually Add Alta Labs Devices To a Site

Alta Labs devices are now capable of zero touch provisioning, using only the serial number of the equipment. This does not yet enable configuration of the device, but it does bypass the need to have installers click the Setup button while on the premises.

Ensure that you are managing the correct site at https://manage.alta.inc. From the Network tab click the Options menu. Scroll to the bottom and click Add via Serial Number. Input the full serial number printed on the device's box or the label on its back.

Note: Valid serial numbers will resemble the example below. After our OUI in blue `BCB923`, there will be 6 more hexadecimal characters. This is the unit's MAC address. If the serial ends here, it is too short and you will need to contact support@alta.inc to generate the long variant for this feature.

The device will now be managed on the selected site, and can be further configured when it is powered and connected to the internet. This connection will expire within 2 weeks from the date it is initially added, unless the device is deployed to its site. It can be refreshed an indefinite number of times by repeating the same steps to add it again.
